The College is continually looking for innovative ideas and
developments which take forward the discipline of general practice
and the quality of patient care. One of the ways in which this is
done is through a number of annual and bi-annual awards and prizes.
RCGP Scotland administers a number of awards and
prizes exclusively for GPs in Scotland.
RCGP Scotland Gala Awards Evening - Celebrating the Best of
General Practice in Scotland
The
RCGP Scotland Awards Gala was held on the 5th December
2009 in Edinburgh, to recognise excellence in General Practice
and to celebrate the outstanding contribution of GPs and Practice
Teams across Scotland. The black tie event was attended by
several VIPs from the College, the Scottish Government and fellow
healthcare organisations, including key members of the Health and
Sport Committee of the Scottish Parliament.
The event raised over £2000 for the
Depression Alliance Scotland
through a raffle and silent auction. Prizes included donations
from Ian Rankin, Alistir Wood Tait, Charlie Miller and the Royal
College of Surgeons.
