Drug Misuse Training Part 1
Part 1 of our Drug Misuse Training is
aimed at health care professionals with a special interest in
working with substance misusers.
The first part of our two-stage course is
delivered by our Wales Clinical Lead as a
college-accredited certificate programme and open to GPs,
health visitors, midwives, primary care nurses and pharmacists.
The training is currently free in Wales,
providing you are a primary care professional, but certain
restrictions do apply so please contact RCGP Wales to check your
eligibility before starting this course.
The course is mapped to the Drug and Alcohol
National Occupational Standards (DANOS) and endorsed by the
National Treatment Agency for Substance
Misuse
The first stage of the course consists of two
e-learning modules which you can complete online via the www.elearning.rcgp.org.uk
You can then progress to the second stage of
the course where you must attend a one-day face-to-face training
day.
You should complete the e-learning modules
prior to this event.
A £50 fully-refundable deposit is required to
secure a place on the training day with the sum refunded on
attendance.
Once stages one and two, as outlined above,
have been completed you will receive your Part 1 Completion
Certificate and be eligible to apply for Part 2 of the course.
