How do I become an
EPASS Provider?
An EPASS Provider is a
group, company or organisation that provides postgraduate
educational activities for GPs and other Primary
Care professionals. In order to gain approval to become
an EPASS Provider, you must agree to meet a list of criteria
specified in the License and Accreditation Agreement.
One of the main qualifying criteria specified in this agreement is
that the Provider must nominate an individual:
- who agrees to take overall responsibility for the accreditation
of any EPASS accredited activities organised by the EPASS Provider
(hereafter named as the “Accreditor”); and
- if the Accreditor is not a practising General Practitioner, the
EPASS Provider must also nominate a General Practitioner who is
actively involved in the organisation and/or
presentation of the EPASS accredited activities arranged by that
EPASS Provider. To qualify as a nominated GP, the GP must comply
with one of the following two criteria:
I. The
Nominated GP must be a member of RCGP with at least 2 years
experience in General Practice; or
II. If not a member of
RCGP, the Nominated GP must have at least 2 years experience in
General Practice and be working at least 1 session per week in
General Practice (or out of hours Service).
The License and
Accreditation Agreement has been designed to ensure
EPASS Providers provide quality education above all else and
with GPs educational needs specifically in mind.
