Yvonne Carter Award for
Outstanding New Researcher Call for Applications
Professor Yvonne Carter CBE was an outstanding and inspirational
leader who had a remarkable impact on academic general practice. To
commemorate her contribution to primary care research, the RCGP,
through its Scientific Foundation Board, and the Society for
Academic Primary Care have jointly instituted the Yvonne
Carter Award for Outstanding New Researcher.
Purpose of award
This annual award of £1000 is intended support
the international development of promising researchers in primary
care. It is intended to enable opportunities to meet and
collaborate with researchers in other countries and, to attend and
present work at an international research meeting.
Eligibility
Applicants should be (pro
rata) within 5 years of either attaining a PhD (non-medical) or 10
years of completing specialist training in general practice
(medical). You should be affiliated to a UK University, have
published at least one piece of original research in a
peer-reviewed journal and be actively engaged in high quality
research. The awards will be restricted to persons whose background
the Award Panel considers to be genuinely grounded in primary
care.
