1997 Winning Paper

The winners of the 1997 Award were Dr Paul Little, Ms Clare Gould, Dr Ian Williamson, Dr Greg Warner, Dr Madeleine Gantley and Professor Ann Louise Kinmonth for their paper:
 
Reattendance and complications in a randomised trial of prescribing strategies for sore throat: the medicalising effect of prescribing antibiotics
 
which was published in the British Medical Journal (1997) vol 315 p350-352.

1997 Highly Commended Papers

The judges for the 1997 Paper of Year were so impressed with the high standard of submissions that they felt it was appropriate to highly commend a further two papers. These were:
