nominations
Five £1000 prizes for
outstanding audit projects completed by early stage general
practitioners
Purpose of Award
The RCGP Kuenssberg Award is given for
high quality full cycle audit projects which demonstrate a change
in clinical practice or service improvement as a direct result of
the audit. Five winners will receive £1000 and be invited to
present their audit work either as a poster or an oral presentation
at the Society for Academic Primary Care (SAPC) Annual Scientific
Meeting or at the RCGP Conference. Winners will also have the
opportunity to shadow the Chair, Head, or Medical Director of the
Clinical Innovation and Research Centre (CIRC), RCGP when they
attend academic meetings or meetings with organisations such as
NICE.
Eligibility
Applications are welcomed from
Associates in Training (AiT) or RCGP members within their first
five years of general practice.
Conditions of Entry
- The audit must be either
initiated or led by the applicant/nominee.
- Contact details for a referee
who can verify the applicant's work on the project are
required
- It must be a full cycle
audit
- It should be supported by an
appropriate literature search
- Criteria and standards should
be clearly defined
- Data collection and analysis
must be valid, comprehensive and logical
- It must detail the way in which
the results of the audit were conveyed to the primary healthcare
team
- The project should result in
valid recommendations for change in practice
- The second round of data
collection should reflect a change in practice
- The audit report should be
clearly and logically written in less than or equal to 3000
words.
