Developing clinical excellence
through clinical audit and effectiveness, service development and
research projects.
The RCGP Clinical
Innovation and Research Centre (CIRC) has been active since October
2007. The CIRC integrates the clinical focus of the
College with development of primary care research areas
together with related work of the RCGP Research and Surveillance Centre (RCGP
RSC).
The centre carries
out a range of work to improve clinical standards for the care of
patients through clinical effectiveness, quality improvement and
research initiatives linked to GP education, training and
continuing professional development. The CIRC also helps to
ensure GPs are represented in the production of the NICE guidelines.
