Submission process

  1. For your application to be accepted you must submit your portfolio and supporting documents. 
  2. Before sending please check that your submission has been fully anonymised with regards to all patient information.
  3. The portfolio and other documents should be submitted as an email attachment to GPwER@rcgp.org.uk
  4. If your portfolio is over 10MB, your email will be automatically rejected by our server. You should send your portfolio and supporting documents by either USB or CD to GPwER Team, Professional Development and Standards, RCGP, 30 Euston Square, London, NW1 2FB
  5. The fee is payable on submission of the application. You can pay the submission fee by contacting the GPwER office who will send you details of how to make a BACS transfer. Alternatively, a cheque made payable to the RCGP can be sent to the address above. Your portfolio will not be processed until the fee is paid.
  6. The GPwER office will acknowledge receipt of your submission within three working days. If you have not heard from us in this time, please contact us to make sure that our department has received your portfolio at GPwER@rcgp.org.uk
  7. Your portfolio will be reviewed by two assessors who will make a recommendation to the accreditation panel. The panel meet quarterly to review the assessor recommendations and decide if candidates is suitable for accreditation.  
  8. You will be informed of the outcome by email. If you disagree with the outcome and would like to appeal, please refer to section 5.2 of the GPwER Terms & conditions (May 2018)
  9. Accreditation certificates will be posted to successful candidates within four weeks of the accreditation decision.
