One of our major initiatives is our on going partnership with the National Institute for Research (NIHR), Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC). With continued support from RCGP members, clinical leads and partner organisations we have identified a significant number of research questions that are important for general practice, and highlighted them to the NIHR for prioritisation. Research calls that have been identified as national research calls during 2015 include:
- Multimorbidities in older people
- End of life care
- Prescribing in primary care
Over the last 2 years 90 research priorities have been identified and over 60% of these are being progressed for funding.
Sponsored research projects must be solution focussed, and often are significant in improving clinical care and patient outcomes.
