The RCGP has sought to establish a robust system of quality assessment, monitoring and accreditation for primary care-based research. This Occasional Paper reports both this research and the monitoring system itself, and establishes the benchmark for research governance and quality in primary care. It is an important document, relevant to both providers and commissioners of research.
